It is referred to as the "blurry" part of the image created by the camera lens as it is not the blur in the foreground or background of a subject. It separates a subject from the background is the result of shallow “depth of field” and is simply called “background blur”. The quality and feel of the background blur/foreground blur and reflected points of light, however, is what photographers call Bokeh Effect.

1. Depth-of-Field

Control the depth-of-field by adjusting the aperture to achieve the blurred photo effect. Depending on what camera lens and the light sources that use, you sometimes may need to bring the main subject as close to the lens as you can to blur the background.

2. Focal Length

Because of the depth of field, opt for a longer focal length lens which enables you to see more extreme bokeh. Go for zoom lens and watch the beauty of bokeh unfold.

3. Portrait Trick

For portrait shots, try to keep the subject separated from the background. Additional they are away from the background; the more likely they are to pop out of the blur.
